Air
Cadet Leah
This
cultivar is a true full double fuchsia.
The
tube is pink. The
sepals are pink fading to white tipped green and fly back to cover the
tube exposing the corolla. The corolla is blue and flares out. The
petaloids are blue flushed pink adding to the beauty of the flower.
This fuchsia has a bushy habit which lends itself to both bush and
basket training. It will also make an excellent standard.
Thousands of cuttings of this cultivar were raised and donated to
The Air Cadets Corp at Skelmersdale, Lancashire.
The fuchsia was named after a young R.A.F. Air Cadet from the Skelmersdale
Squadron, Air Cadet Corps, who lost her life in a freak accident when two gliders collided in mid air over Burtonwood Airfield, Cheshire.
